If I close a large program, my cursor/arrow will stall for like 3 seconds and won't move, although I am moving my finger on the fingerpad.

Does this happen to anyone else?

A Mac

how much RAM do you have? Usually low RAM will stall mice and keyboards. If it's a large program it has probably used alot in its cache and it's being released when you close it. If you don't have enough RAM during its operation you can get frozen or lagging.

does it un-stick if you touch it and move around really lightly? i had a similar "problem" until i realized that i didn't need to put much pressure on the trackpad.

This has happend to me sometimes. Whenever I close World of Warcraft from the dock, the cursor freezes for like half a second or something. However, when I exit the game from the game-menu, the problem does not exist.

I had this problem and know how frusrating it is. All you need to do is go into system preferences----->mouse & keyboard----->trackpad. Once in this pane, untick the 'ignore accidental trackpad input', this will solve your problem.
