Macbook - About to install 2GB Ram

im about to install my 2GB ram into my MacBook. is there a program i should download before doing so? i remember someone saying they used Mem Test after they installed it to check if it is installed correctly?

no, once its installed go to apple--> about this mac if it registerd then it would say so

go to System Profiler in Applications-Utilities and memory tab to make sure that they are up to speed and registered as being 'OK' just to be twice as sure.

just throw it in there!

if it doesnt work you will most definately know because you computer either wont start or you will get kernal panics...if that is the case you most likely got bad ram.

too see if it is definately working correctly do what the above people said
