well, recently I had a bad battery and have just ordered a new one which is on it's way. I have a 17" 1.33 powerbook.

Well, since the battery on it is completely shot al that is shown in the corner is a battery with an "x" in it, opposed to the lightning bolt/plug. When I went to open a picture last night the screen jsut went completely BLACK, the computer was still on (could eject a disc) and wen I minimized the windows (hitting f12) I could see a VERY faint box of where the windows were, but that is it.

I held down the power button in hopes of turning it off then back on, but since then have not been able to turn the powerbook back on.. so it's basically a paperweight.

will the new battery fix this?

any help woudl be greatly appreciated.

hey, i think you turned the brightness all the way down. if you do that, it takes off the lamp but if you look closely, you can still see things. keep pressing f2 till it gets light again
