Macbook - Close lid and no hard drive power off ?

Hi,
I sthere any way to be able to close the lid of the laptop and not have it turn off the hard disk and hibernate or whatever its doing ?
Everytime I close my lid It disconnects from internet and powers off the hard drive. I have checked all the power setting but cant seem to find the right one!
Any ideas please ?
