Hi, I am thinking about purchasing my MBP at the local Apple store, but I want to get the student discount. Does anyone know what I need to have as proof of myself being a student? I don't have a student ID, but I have paperwork from when I was in school. And I am on break now, so would I still be able to get the discount if I am attending in the coming Fall? Thanks if anyone can help me out. :p

I just purchased a MBP yesterday at my local apple store. All he asked for was my student id. Since you don't have it I would call down there first and ask if you can show them your paperwork. Im sure they have encountered this problem before during summer break but I would call just to make sure.

Just bring some kind of paper work that shows you are going to school. My friend used a letter about dorm selection that had his name on it. They didn't question it at all.

Yup, pretty much any proof of enrollment will be accepted. I think I'm going to get mine at my local Apple store too, that way I can return it quickly & easily if I have any problems.

I used my acceptance letter to get my discount.. they didn't question it, but they also required a form of id (my license) along with the letter.

I used a piece of mail in my name with the university's address on it for my first computer purchase, ID for my second

i don't even think they will ask for much from my experiences but they do ask what school you attend and city location.

for my old emac the discount was only 50 bucks. i should have bought it from an online store and gotten my ram upgraded and some extras. for the blackbook i just got apple's discount was still only going to be 50 bucks so i ended up at maczone and got a better deal.

how much was everyone else's student discount???
