PB 12" 640MB 40GB Combo 3.5 years brand new harddisk installed, first one crashed and burned. Problem= I turn it on, start my usual apps ie. safari, ai, psd, itunes...they all crash ("safari encountered an unexpected error blah blah...") either after loading, or don't load at all. Once this happens, the comp usually crashes completely (dark screen falls with multiple language basically tells you u're screwed). I manually shut off and restart. Irony=once the comp restarts, it works just fine-like the day i bought it off eBay.

how?

maybe this can help>>
