Mine does the same thing. Occasionally it will got to 100%, but that's rare. I just thought it was an innocuous quirk.

I get 99% at a full charge myself. Never thought 1% was much of a problem to think about.

Mine always sits at 99% charged. Never really bothered me. I had 100% first time I booted mine up but after that it was just 99%

It's very common, on a rare occasion it will show 100% but most of the time it sits as 'Charged' 99%. I wouldn't worry about it.

At 99%, your machine will stop charging the battery.
See http://www.apple.com/batteries/ for more information on maximizing the life of the battery.
I have never seen 100%, and that's good. Also, you will notice that your battery will not charge when you plug it in until it has fallen to under about 95%. This cuts down on the loadcycles, I believe, and prolongs the life of the battery. (Someone else can speak in detail about this. I always forget the exact details of how all this works, but, basically, run your battery down once per month, until your portable sleeps. Then, plug it back in and charge it up.)

I have, according to CoconutBattery , only have 91% of the original maximum charge left. This is depressing, at first, but it will happen to all the Lithium-ion batteries as time goes by. I've had mine for a year now.

I also get 99% but every once in a while will hit 100% after I unplugg an replugg the charger from the wall. Otherwise it never really bothered me as I am still getting anywhere from 4:30 hours to 5 sometimes.

I have read this some where, but I don't remember where. If you let your battery discharge to less than 95%, then your battery will start to charge again. After which you shold be able to get it to 100% again.

That's true, except it shouldn't really get to 100%. It should stop at 99%. That's been my experience. I don't remember where I read about it (probably the MacOSX.com forums...there were tons of discussions there about this), but the 99% thing is to protect the battery when it's plugged in. It's just a number though. I more or less just use the thing, and drain it once per month to keep the battery in good shape.

That's strange. I saw something weird with CoconutBattery a while back as well. I had 98% of my total charge for two months, and then, all of a sudden, it dropped down to 92% when I did a battery drain one day. Has been there ever since. I wrote the developer, but never got a response. I was wondering if it was wrong all along, or if it's wrong now. You can actually check your battery by going to the System Profiler, and clicking "Power" under "Hardware". Here is what mine says right now...

Battery Information:

Battery Installed: Yes
First low level warning: No
Full Charge Capacity (mAh): 4037
Remaining Capacity (mAh): 3844
Amperage (mA): 0
Voltage (mV): 12450
Cycle Count: 126

So, I think CoconutBattery was wrong the first time when it reported that the battery was at a 99 or 98% capacity. Seems to be right now, though. Maybe it was the update that came a couple months ago.

I also only get 99%. The only time i get 100% is when i' am using my computer while it is charging it will hit 100. Maybe its because the computer uses power to boot up and that uses the 1%. Just a guess

I'm always at 99%...whenever I take my laptop with me for a while, it often discharges below 60%. Whenever I recharge it, it always hits 100% and stays there for a good while before going 99 again...

In keeping my laptop on for long periods of time straight (more than 4 days) and charging, I on occasion have seent the percentage drop to 97 or 96 at lowest. After discharging and charging, it can go back up to 100 and settle at 99 again...

seems normal to me
