Any advice on apparent hardware problem of Macbook Pro refusing to accept a disk and ejecting each time?

Does the computer eject all disks...or just this one disk?

All disks are ejected as soon as you try to slide in?

Failed optical drive alas. Slot loaders have a very high failure rate compared to tray loaders. You might like to try blowing out with a can of compressed air as a last resort.

Hang on to those original install discs like grim death! Using OS X.7 or later make a bootable USB thumb drive before running Installer!
