PowerBook - 17inch powerbook problem

Ok my friend has a 17 inch powerbook, he says there is a black splotch a little over the size of a half dollar in the bottom left corner with what kinda looks like little crack marks from it's center but the outer casing part of the screen isn't cracked, something on the inside, and then that the bottom half has like rows of just messed up pixels that are like purple white and blue. Can anyoen help him out?? Or give him a price for a new screen if it is available.
QUOTE Thanks
