My internal harddrive was full. So I backup everything and deleted the most of the originals from internal drive. When I check each folder, there is a total of 170GB of data. But the internal drive says it is 270GB full. I don't understand where this 100GB is? Any suggestions.

Thanks

Take a look at this blog post by member Stretch. It gives a few ideas for what might be taking up space as well as links to some software that may help.

Also are you using Time Machine to back up the drive? With Lion and Mountain Lion Time Machine stores backups on a notebook's internal drive if the regular external drive is not available. Some utilities report this space as used and others do not.
