Why are you even considering it?

Please verify and include the exact model/year of your Mac and OS X version number (available from "About This Mac", then "More Info" on the Apple menu).

    Specs:
    27" i7 iMac, 24" iMac, 13" Macbook Air, iPhone 6S, iPod Nano 7th GeniPad 3
There is no size difference, so what other factors are you interested in by considering a switch?

I thought the Transcend SSD would have faster access times than the Apple SSD.

OK, assuming that it does..would you notice the actual difference in what you are doing? If the SSDs are comparably spec'ed I imagine that the performance difference is pretty negligible..

    Specs:
    Imac 27", i7 3.5GHz, 3TB Fusion drive, 32GB memory, macOS Sierra.
And whilst the drive may be in your Apple computer, check it out. Probably a Toshiba or similar.
Hang on to those original install discs like grim death! Using OS X.7 or later make a bootable USB thumb drive before running Installer!
