Basically my mum dropped my laptop yday and the screen is totally broken! How do I get my files off of it??? What cables do I need?!?!?!

You're going to need to boot the Air in Target Disk Mode. Or, you'll need a case/adapter for the SSD module in your MacBook Air.

What generation of MacBook Air is it? Does it have Thunderbolt?

Liquid and computers don't mix. It might seem simple, but we see an incredible amount of people post here about spills. Keep drinks and other liquids away from your expensive electronics!
