Hi All,

I have got a Macbook Pro 2007 and i have recently swapped out the DVD drive to use a second HDD bay.

I bought a Mackbook pro 2008 DVD Superdirve and a SATA external dvd case to use. When i plug the drive into my Macbook Pro 2007 model it is recognised, as when i go to :

Disk Utils
System Profile

The drive is shown as a USB connection and states the make of the drive. As soon as i put a dvd drive in it will not load it up. However, If i take heh drive and put it into a Windows machine, it is seen and disk loads up fine,

HAs anyone else had this issue? It's sending me round in circlets.

Ive tried most things from here without luck: http://hints.macworld.com/article.ph...11107064435227

** Update

While re-adding a disk again to check something, it looks like as soon as the disk is added it removes the drive from Disk Util
