Hi I'm new here, and this is a great resource. I tried running disk repair while that was accessible. It identified problems but could not fix. Tried re-install and booting from DVD holding down c. Spinning wheel again.after a minute of the progress bar. Zapped the PRAM, zero. Is my hard drive toast? The machine is a 2009,
Thanks

It does sound like your MBP is ready for a new hard drive. Check out hard drives at Other World Computing. They also sell a fine selection of SSD drives.
