    problem with macbook air
I have a 2008 MacBook Air. Yesterday it stopped in the middle of the boot-up with the Apple logo displayed and the gear rotating continuously. I tried to reboot with "d" depressed and was able to test my memory---No problems but I still cannot get past the hangup. Any ideas?

    Moved here to proper forum.

Do you have the external optical drive for the MBA? If you do, boot the Air from the drive using your install disk (probably Leopard) and run a verify of the hard drive.
