Ever since the last firmware upgrade in my MBP (doesnt happen in my imac) when i close the notebook, the internet connection doesnt work upon waking from sleep.

2011 MBP - i7, 12 GB ram, 300GB HDD. running Latest version of Lion.

Troubleshooting steps completed thusfar:

- Turned off computer sleep, but allow the display to sleep.
- deleted preferred networks
- deleted stored network password from keychain
- repaired disc permissions in disc utility
- re- connected to my wifi
- reboot

still, does the same thing. The wifi signal shows connected, and internet access but will not reload a page or go to a new one.

the only thing that fixes it is to reboot.

I think its a firmware issue, not sure though.

Anyone have any ideas?

There was a recent update to Lion which was supposed to correct this problem. Did you download the supplemental update? (Assuming you're running 10.7.3.)

Does it take a reboot?? You can't just reconnect from the airport icon? My iMac still does this - but I haven't updated - because it'll take me a week to download right now - but I can always just do a manual connect via the airport icon.
