I have a 12" Powerbook 1.33 with 768 ram- running Tiger--recently when I minimize a screen the genie effect will freeze before it goes to the bar and to get the powerbook back to life I can hit the powerbutton and the option will come up to shutdown, log off, or cancel- you hit cancel and everything returns to normal. You can also just hit a few keys at random and it will come to life...any idea what it causing this and how do I fix it???
QUOTE Thanks

does this always happen?...or it just happen like once?
maybe it's just a bug. try to run the disk utility if it persists.

It happens daily- I am on this Mac usually in the evenings for a few hours and it will do it once....

I'll second using Disk Utility to fix this. Just open Disk Utility and run a Permissions Repair. You might also want to check to see if the RAM is okay, as there is a chance (albeit a slight one) that the RAM stick has gone bad and could be causing some issues for you.
