Hello Everyone,
So recently my 2006 macbook fried on me and I got that flashing folder with a question mark every time I tried to start it up. I went to the Apple store to see what they could do for me and......well there wasn't anything they could do, they said my MacBook was ventege but recommended me to buy an external hard drive case and that I would be able to save everything on it. I bought a NexStar TX external case off amazn and did the whole set up and plugged it into my friends iMac, but the hard drive doesn't appear on the finder window. The hard drive makes a couple clicking sounds and then sounds normal when I plug it in. Any Ideas that could help me? Thanks! |

The reason you got the flashing folder was because the hard drive had failed. There is probably nothing wrong with the rest of your notebook.
So you won't be getting any data off it as IMHO the drive is bad, gone, dead, left the planet, history. Replace the drive and re-install the operating system and the notebook should work again. |
