I could not get streaming from the following radio station on my Mac Book Air that has the snowleopard OS.

http://www.slbc.lk/

[Some of the streaming from the above station would be shut from 18.00 hours GMT to 00.00 Hours GMT]

Does anybody know if the following is safe to install and allow the streaming of the above radio station?

VideoLAN - Streaming Features list

I do not know in what format the above radio station do their streaming>

Is VLC safe to install? Absolutely. Many of us here use it to watch/listen to audio/visual content. I have no idea if it will work with those radio stations but it's worth a try.

Yes it does work. In VLC go to 'Open network' in the address spot paste the address for the 'listen live' for the live stream. I did it and it worked fine.
