Hi, is it possible for me to clone my internal drive to an external drive, then put in my new internal drive and copy the clone off the external drive onto it?

Yes, you can use Carbon Copy Cloner to make a fully bootable clone of any drive, so you can create a full clone on that external and use it ti restore your whole system onto a new drive

Also, you could use SuperDuper! ( very similar to Carbon Copy Cloner ) and achieve the same thing.
SuperDuper!

The problem is not the problem. The problem is your attitude towards the problem. You understand ?
