Help with MacBook Pro trackpad

For some reason my computer trackpad is acting up. I can move the mouse icon anywhere but I can't click on anything. I have restarted a few times and even tried an external mouse setup that I have used with the MBP in the past. Any ideas?

Check your battery ,swollen batteries have caused this in some models.

my pinch zoom is not working on my trackpad. i have a mac pro....any ideas!?
