TV hook up help

Hey there

Im trying to hook up my macbook to my tv via a mini display port to HDMI adapter and all im getting is the mac default desktop background and nothing else. Pleeeeeeeeese help

What you have there is an Extended desktop. If you move the cursor off the left or right of your Macbook screen (depending on how it's configured) and you'll see the cursor appear on your TV screen.

If you want the same thing on your Mac to display on your TV you want to Mirror the display.

Open System preferences - Displays

From here you'll see both your TV and MacBook displays listed and the various options you have to configure them.
