So sorry if this has been discussed before, but I recently cracked the screen of my 2010 Macbook. The glass itself is not shattered, so I'm guessing the LCD display panel is what's screwed. If I'm wrong, please let me know! I want to be able to fix this myself and see my screen again.
I tried taking the computer to Apple (I'm still under warranty) and at first they said that they would replace the screen and LCD panel for free, instead of charging me the usual $750+ fee. Then when I go to pick it up a week later, they decide to inform me that because they found traces of water damage (the computer was working perfectly prior to the screen crack), there was nothing they could do. Ugh. /endventing. |
