Is anyone able to find something there that would be beeping?

Thanks. It's all nonsense to me.

Looks like you're running Sophos - Antivirus software for the Mac is notoriously crappy. I'd suggest uninstalling it first and seeing if that resolves the issue.

Liquid and computers don't mix. It might seem simple, but we see an incredible amount of people post here about spills. Keep drinks and other liquids away from your expensive electronics!

When are you going into the apple store? I went in and they had no idea!

I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that both of you are taking courses with online components developed by Desire2Learn.

My girlfriend was using her computer yesterday and there was an incessant beeping that sounded like a pager. It is a pager. The software has a pager/instant message option.

If you go into your settings you should see an option to have the pager make no sound!

I will agree that I think it is Desire2learn.
It has to do with if you have something in your inbox or instant message notification. At least for me (CU boulder) it is in the top right corner and looks like a speech bubble. Check and see if that works for you.

P.S. Thanks Mr. Emrich. This happened before and I couldn't remember what caused it

Thank you so much! This worked for me! I never knew D2L had a pager! None of my teachers have ever used it until now! I was trying to schedule an appointment with the genius bar, but now I dont need to. Thank you Thank you Thank you!
