Apples site states max ram on my Macbook Pro is 8GB 2 x 4, or at least thats what they offer as a memory option but I see sites that say it's 16GB 2 x 8. Which is it?

Thanks

The most Apple will ship is 2x4GB but you can upgrade that to 2x8GB yourself if your willing to make the effort.

Please note that this upgrade will not be "warranty friendly" and if something is broken in the process, you're going to have to pay to fix that damage out of pocket.

That said, I have done the swap for a few friends going up to 8GB and if you're patient and good at following instructions the guide above is a great help.
