hey I know this may sound stupid but Ive only just realised that my mac book pro hasn't got a sharp button and i really need it to program is there anyway doing a shortcut to get one or anything because its starting to become a pain lol any help would be much appreciated.

If you are referring to the hash (#), you can get it by pushing Shift-3 on an standard US keyboard. What keyboard layout are you using?
