You could get 8 Gig in that model

I have 8gb already, ijust wondered if the jump to 16 was worth it or possible.
I code 2mb 1024bit encryption code so quite intensive.

I do not think that the macbook can handle 16gb. The most that the macbooks can handle is 8gb.

It says the 2011 MBPs can use 16. Check around the OWC website to see your model.

Need 16GB of RAM for your new MacBook Pro?

MacBook, MacBook Pro
