Hi all,
I wondered if someone had the answer to this one for me:
I have a Powerbook G4 1.67 with I gig of ram, 2 x 512 mb's.
My brother just bought a new iBook which has 512 mb's built in.
I wanted to take out one of my 512 mb ram modules, and put it in his, giving him 1 gig ( I want to get myself a 1 gig module to add to my remaining 512).
The thing is, I'm not sure the PBooks 512 will work in the iBook.
I know they are both pc2700, but when I check out Crucials' site for compatability, I notice the model number for the ibook and PBook mem modules are different.
Anyone ever use do this, did it work?
BTW, the 512mb ram stick in my Powerbook are from Apple, if that matters.
Thanks.

They use the same memory so you should be fine to give your brother a stick

Don't forget to use the new User Reputation System

That's great, trpnmonkey41,
Have you ever put ram in an iBook?
Just looking into it a bit online and it looks as though the keyboard has to be taken out.
Is it very difficult to do that?

It's extremely easy. There are clear directions on the Apple support site.
