hi,

I have a power book g4 15"
Does anyone know how to turn the annoying self adjusting screen illumination off!?

Do you mean where the screen dims after a certain amount of time?

If so: System Preferences > Energy Saver > Options > Automatically reduce brightness of the display before sleep.

no, the automatic dimming sensor. there is one for the keyboard F10 but I can't seem to find one for the screen

That I don't know - I own a 12-inch PowerBook which does not have this.

The manual should tell you.
