So I opened the lid on my PowerBook and desktop seemed to be frozen after a few minutes the cursor went to the spinning rainbow pinwheel. After leaving it like that for a few minutes I tried to force a restart by holding the power button. It shut down and restarted and then quit at the grey screen with the darker grey apple logo with the spinning wheel below it. Tried to restart it again and it did the same thing got to the grey apple screen and it quit.

Anyone have an idea?

I know my hd was really close to being full, probably just over 1 gb of space. At one point a week or two ago I got a message saying the startup disk was full.

Any help would be appreciated.

If this is the case...it could very well be the problem. Really shouldn't let your HD get that full...especially when you know it & had the issue before!

Try putting the OS disc in and booting from it, then wiping your HD, or trying to make space somehow, or buying a real small external and booting from it.
