I bought my late 2008 macbook pro of ebay last month and it has worked perfectly until this morning when it would not turn on.

When i press the power button the hardrive spins for a second and the light at the front blinks like crazy but then it makes the sound like it has been forcibly shut down. I have looked all over the internet for solutions but none seem to work.

Please help

Thanks

Did you receive an install - recovery DVD with the MBP when you bought it? If you did, try booting with the DVD. Hold down the C key with the DVD inserted.

If you didn't receive a DVD with the machine, you're going to need to buy one so that you can test with it and maybe have to reinstall. Which operating system is on the MBP?
