hi

ive tried a second battery in my ibook
but it wont charge. the battery icon in finder
has a little battery with with a cross through it?

i fear the worst - can anyone help cannot see
a description of the icons anywhere

Can you upload a pic of the icon? Your charging board may be in distress. This is replaceable part seperate from the MB, I believe.

thanks for the reply i,ve taken the battery out again
the icon is a battery with a cross through the middle
the ibook charges fine with my other battery. i've since read
if its left for 12 months - it may be goosed
as this was bought 2nd hand - ithink its dead?
