ibook g4 cd drive

I just picked up an old ibook g4 today and i went to restore the computer and the disk will spinn up and the eject the restore disk but cds will work fine. Is there a way to fix this? It is the mid 2005 ibook g4 1.07 with 768 mb of ram.

Need two things:

1. Please rewrite your post...it's confusing.
2. More info regarding what model iBook G4 you have.
