I'm running windows 7 on a separate partition, along with Linux on another.

My issue is that in ie9 (on windows), the spacebar refuses to work, but only in flash games. It will work perfectly fine everywhere else.

What's going on here?

Do you have the latest version of Flash installed? Go to the Adobe site and check. I'm not using IE 9 yet, so I can't comment on whether it's an IE 9 problem or an Adobe problem. Also, I believe IE 9 has not gone gold yet so there may be a bug or two hanging around.
QUOTE Thanks
