Install iLife11

I have a macbook pro 17 Intel purchased 2007. I put a dvd into the drive with iLife11.dmg on it. The drive starts, runs then ejects the disk. Nothing on the screen about why? I would think it was the drive except I have Microsoft office for Mac and it installs just great through the same drive. Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Interesting. iLife typically isn't provided as a DMG file on a disc, it's a full disc (not an image)... and if you bought it from the Mac App Store, it would be installed automatically through the Mac Apps Store application.

So, tell us a bit more about this disc and how it came to be this way.

I got it from a friend who installed on his macbook. I don't know if he made a dmg file or not. Maybe that's why it don't work on my macbook.

Is this an original iLife install disc (from the Apple Store)?

Keep drinks and other liquids away from your expensive electronics!
