I havent tried it, but the dimensions on it look good and shouldn't have any problem installing it, I can't see any problem using it at all.

If it is the SSD/HDD hybrid, i wouldnt recommend it, and neither would anyone that has used it. Ive only heard bad feedback.

If its just the standard HDD, its great.

I have been using this drive on my 2010 MBP. It has killed my battery life by almost half. There is a little bit more vibration than I would like to have because this drive spins faster(7200 RPM'S). Boot times and loading times are great though. If it's worth the upgrade, I can't say, but I need more space and a faster HD. SSD has horrible write times and is still way over priced so this is all there is. Good luck with your decision.

Tommy

thanks for the input guys.. a few more questions though, how much faster are the boot and loading times? and is there a big difference between this hybrid and a normal 7200rpm hd?

its doesnt perform as well as a SSD, but "better" than a hard drive. Alot of guys have been experiencing problems with them, members here included.

I would go for the standard 7200 drive, or go for an SSD. i would not go for something in between.

My drive boots in under a minute (7200rpm 500GB momentus).

I have it installed in my 13" MBP 2.66 & have had no problems at all. I have heard that most problems exist with people who have "cloned" their old drive to the XT which apparently it does not like. I installed it & copied over via Migration assistant & again have had no problems at all (it has been installed for a couple months with heavy use).
I will say that there is virtually no difference noticable from a standard 7200 drive though....

The ssd side of the hybrid is really for the hdd to place temporary files, folders and apps onto the ssd to access often used files and open them quicker, however with a "real" SSD everything will be quickly accessible so there is quite an advantage.

Sounds like a plan.....
Just understand that a REAL SSD of the same capacity will cost you about $1000.00 more
