I'm having a small issue with my macbook pro. It's the newest model, I got it 5 weeks ago.

The battery doesn't charge when I stream shows from Netflix or when I participate in a webcam conference online. I've reset the SMC but that didn't solve the problem. So far these are the only circumstances under which the battery doesn't charge. Any ideas what might be going on?

is the adaptor amber light on?

check the condition of your battery.

to do this hold option+click on the battery icon on your menu bar

Hmm... maybe this is an issue with Google Chrome.. but I have the problem with another website in Firefox.

When I'm steaming from netflix on Chrome, the charger light is green even though the battery is nowhere near full. When I option+click on the battery icon, it says "Condition: normal, Battery is not charging, Power Source: Power Adapter"

When I steam netflix in Firefox or Safari, the battery charges charges, but the power source is the power adapter.

However, when I access my online video conference (a flash-based program) in Firefox, the same thing happens. The battery doesn't charge when plugged in, the light is green, and the battery says Condition: Normal.

I guess an easy solution would be not to use Chrome to stream Netflix... but I have two monitors, and Firefox 4 puts the video on the macbook pro monitor instead of the 2nd monitor, even though the Firefox window is on the 2nd monitor. I haven't tested this with other web browsers.

I'm getting really frustrated. My three-year-old macbook pro had none of these problems and then when I drop over $2400 on the newest model of macbook pros, i start to have all sorts of problems.

Nevermind about streaming netflix in firefox. A few weeks ago it wouldn't put the full screen video on the 2nd monitor, but now it does.
