I have a new to me macbook air that came with a mac superdrive. I have plugged the drive in, placed a disk into the drive, it thinks about it, and then spits it back out at me. Since I am new to the mac world, I thought I might be missing something. Is there anything I am doing wrong, or is the super drive bad? I have tried different disks, same outcome. Thanks

The drive lens may be dirty or the unit could be defective. Try this: buy a can of compressed air at Radio Shack or your favorite electronics store and blow a couple of short blasts of air in the drive. Try the disks again. If they work, the lens was probably dirty. If not, the drive will likely have to be replaced.
