For the last few months I've had about 2-3 hardware malfunctions where my screen goes grey and it requires me to hold the power button down and it said something about a 'panic'. Ever since these last few months, I can barely multi-task without my graphics lagging horribly. For example....

I will have two Safari windows open, one on the left and one on the right. While I am watching Netflix on the right, I will load 9 to 5 Mac | Apple Intelligence on the left, and it goes EXTREMELY laggy during the loading time.

I have a 17" core i7 4gb 2010 MBP that I bought brand new in September.

My mom has a 15" core i5 2010 and i've done multiple tests on hers and she never has ANY graphics lagging problems so I can only assume I think I am having some hrdware problems.

suggestions?

sounds like hardware. Kernel Panics usually lead to this.

have you done all the usual trouble shoots (SMC, repair permissions and so on)?

I just now did both, and it's still pretty laggy. But, When I read on Apple's support site about what things might happen if you would need to reset the SMC and I had some of the problems like lights and fans for sure. So I guess maybe those helped a little bit, but I'm still getting lag every time I'm doing more than one thing, no matter how small the two things are.

I did pay for Apple Care so I don't mind getting some use out of it
