I've had my Powerbook for 8 months now, and I really love it. Performance wise, it is great. However, I've recently noticed a couple things that bug me with the case on it.

Above the superdrive, the silver plating feels like it is not tight with the inside of the powerbook. When I push down on it, it moves slightly.

The grey strip that goes around the screen area, is not tight at the top with the silver part that touches the screen.

Has anyone else had problems? Should I expect this to get much worse?

Do I have any recourse? I don't have AppleCare, and although I believe I'm still under my warranty, I doubt it would be covered (idk though, I havn't looked at it yet, please tell me if I'm wrong).

I have not had any of these problems but then again my powerbook is not as old as yours. Who knows It could end up happening to my system as well. I will have to say that you should bring it to the apple store and have them look at it, and see if it is covered. If not then you can either opt to pay for it to be fixed if it bothers you that much... buy apple care and then wait a few months before you complain about the problem.. ( you are still in the time allowed to buy it, you might want to buy it any way) or you can just leave it if it does not bother you that much.

i posted a few months ago about the same problem. the gray border thing around the pb moves in some spots..i find it really annoying at times. but I've just gotten used to it. I'm sure it can be fixed with some simple glue on mine, but I am to afraid to mess with it.

Yeah IMHO the case is not very sturdy, something I've mentioned many times on this forum. The plastic edge moulding around the case keeps getting loose. Apple has been good repairing it every time I take it in (4 times already). So that's good... I've been trying to more careful since...
