Hello,
Bought A old MacBook 1.1 A1181 earlier this year, (2.0ghz core Duo)I upgraded to 2gb memory-gskill, and currently has seagate momentus 7200rpm 16mb cache installed. I just ordered a 2nd hdd caddy through Newmodeus, I can really use some advice on a few subjects, please.

First of all, would I benefit more from a SSD, or would I be better off to add a second HDD and create a (striped 0?) raid.( I also have considered the Seagate Momentus XT hybrid drive but am sceptical of it.)

My biggest question is what ssd's are compatible with my MacBook, it seems like they are all mainly sata 2, I was under the impression that a sata 2 ssd would not work in my Mac, But ,online, I've seen many people installing both intel and kingston drives, I think, were Sata 2 into the macbook/pro 1.1.
(Anyone have any further upgrades they recomend, I think im about out of things to do...)

Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks in advance.

Go have a look at the Mercury Extreme from OWC who are Mac specialists. They are brilliant:-

Hang on to those original install discs like grim death! Using OS X.7 or later make a bootable USB thumb drive before running Installer!
