i had a chance to buy a macbook pro 13 MB404LL/A year 2008 version with 250 gb 2.4 ghz, 4gb, software not included, no box. It has 10.5 software installed. still has apple care till aug this year. I was told apple care has the key board replaced last year. the buyer wants $555 free shipping. Is it worth it ?

one more question, if I were to upgrade to snow leopard 10.6, what is needed ?
QUOTE Thanks

$29 Snow Leopard DvD from the Apple Store

I've always wanted to be smart, handsome and modest. But, I guess I'll have to be satisfied with two out of three . . .

I would be careful if he had the keyboard replaced, likely a drink would have been spilled on it.

555 is a little steep in my opinion, with no disks and no box. You can find better deals on Ebay.

$555 may not be a "bad price"...$500 would be better. I paid $400 for a similar MacBook model last Summer. So $500 for a similar MacBook Pro may be a decent price.

That's a good price, I just upgraded my wife to a new Macbook Air and sold her old computer which is the exact same one you mention without box and without Apple Care, locally for $800. I wouldn't have got that on ebay, I would have expected to get between $650-$750.
