I'm planning on getting a new iBook. I will be doing graphic design kind of stuff. (I know that te PowerBook is supposed to be better for that, but I can't afford one)
Since the Apple guy at CompUSA can't tell me - If I hook the iBook up to a VGA monitor will it only handle 1024x768, or can it go higher? I have a ViewSonic Graphics Series G810, so it can handle whatever dimensions you throw at it. (Am I correct in assuming that the VGA adaptor comes with the iBook?) Thanks. |

You will need to download http://www.rutemoeller.com/mp/ibook/ibook_e.html to enable screen spanning, the iBooks default setup only allows for mirroring which goes at 1024x768.
The mini-vga to vga adapter does not come with the iBook Don't forget to use the new User Reputation System |

I don't know if the bug has been fixed with the hack when using Tiger so if anyone knows I think that is important. I don't use Tiger and don't plan to upgrade so I have no knowledge of how well it works on that platform. So if you have Tiger and an ibook then please post. I think that would help them to know this.
