Hey All,

This might depress some of you... It made me want to kill myself.

I just purchased the best MacBook Pro 15'' you could buy... Upgraded processor, 8 GB Ram, upgraded screen etc.

This morning the laptop took a spill (please don't make me tell the story) and dented the screens backing... The dent also cracked the LCD screen.

Called Crywolf... $800 plus tax for the screen repair

Then I realized that I am within the 14 day return policy... Any ideas on how to take advantage of that so my laptop can be replaced? Or should I just drop the money and get the screen repaired?

Thanks for the time.

You're going to have to just bite the bullet and get the repair done. I feel for you - I'm sure we all do - but, at the end of the day - it's just money (so need to harm yourself). It might be therapeutic to tell the story. Sorry about the luck. I know after reading many stories about mishaps - I find myself gingerly handling the MBP - especially when out at a coffee shop or something similar. Things just happen sometimes.

I think you know better than to even ask that question. Unless you had some sort of accidental damage insurance coverage on the machine, you are responsible to pay for the repairs.

If you bought it from Best Buy and purchased the ADH, you're golden. If you didn't, then I certainly feel for you. Hindsight is always 20/20, so all the things I'm thinking of that I could say, I'll kindly refrain from to keep from pouring salt on the wounds. As bad as this situation may seem, things could always be worse. You could have busted the logic board, you could have wrecked your car, you could have just gotten diagnosed with cancer. So, in the grand scheme of things, you're on the luckier end.

I hope your day gets better, and the sooner you get it repaired, the sooner you don't have to look at it broken, which means the sooner you can forget about it!

Good luck!

Some credit cards cover accidental damage if you purchased with it. I know American Express does.
