hey guys, i managed to get everything else fixed, but this issue is still bugging me.

my screen shuts off when i shut my laptop half way, if i lift it up it turns on again, no issues, but its annoying because i can't use the laptop in certain angles because the screen shuts off.

is this a hinge issue?

and how do i get this fixed?

its a late 06 macbook.

cheers.

it may bee that the sensor that tells you when your mac when it is being closed is out of place or it may be faulty how long has it been happening and have you dropped it at all as this could have shifted it

Probably not the sensor as that is a magnetic device. It's more likely you have some cabling that's being pinched off or becoming loose as you move the lid up and down. There are several cables that snake on up through the hinge area. Take it apart again and check. Use the step by step directions at iFixit: The free repair manual.

Never dropped it or spilled anything on it, but the hinge has been squeaking lately so i tightened it slightly.
