Hello,

So this is my first post on the forum so hello. Hahaha.

Uhm, so basically I need help deciding which Mac is right for me to buy.

Right now I have a PC but I am done with them and Windows because I bought a Toshiba brand new right before August for college and it just recently had the hard drive fry out and right now the cables between this and the screen are loose.

So, I am wanting to switch to a Mac. At the moment, I would like to purchase something under $2000. So here is what I am looking for in a computer...

-Durability. I want a computer that will last over a year, hopefully for several years because I need a long term solution. I also travel a lot because I am doing full-time study abroad so something that is not like, I dont know, wimpy, because the plane and turbulence etc. Something that won't break easily because of durability.

-Looks. I am superficial about my computer. I like the looks of the MacBook Pro and several people I know here have the Air which is sexy.

-Power. I have to use Photoshop quite often so a Mac that runs Photoshop smoothly would be great. I also download and watch movies on my computer so one that runs videos well would be great. I also Skype so one with built in camera would be a plus. Lastly, one with a good size hard drive. At least over 300 GB.

Thanks and please let me know!

the lowend 2011 13in i5 Macbook pro would do.

it has a 2.3ghz i5 processor, 4gb of ram, and 320gb of HDD. it has an intel integrated video card rather than a nVdia which the previous model had but still it works nicely.

i just got one a couple of days ago and i have cs5 running in with better than my old windows laptop.

hope this helps...

And just a note: the hard drive is just as likely to die on a Mac as on any other PC.

So keep it backed up.

I cannot be held responsible for the things that come out of my mouth.
In the Windows world, most everything folks don't understand is called a virus.
