12" G4 powerboook back light

I have one of these that recently the light went out on, im almost 100% sure the inverter is to blame. My question is: will an inverter from a 12" ibook G3 500mhz dual usb model work in it?

If its still under guarantee then take it to an apple store to get it fixed but if its not then i dont see why the inverter from the ibook wouldnt work

I wish it was under warranty, regreting not getting the apple care now. I took a look, the inverters are completely different. Guess Ill just order one.
