The reason I ask is that I am currently working abroad (Vila Real, Portugal) and have taken my Laptop and MBP with me, both have wifi yet only the mac is connecting to the free wifi which is around 100m away in the lobby.
The PC laptop is not picking up the wifi from the room.

[DT] has a spectacular aura about

I'm sure it's just like any variation in the specific mix of WiFi card/chip, OS/drivers, antennae placement and sensitivity. That's actually interesting (in a good way) to hear that the MBP sounds like it has solid WiFi reception!
QUOTE Thanks
