I bought a mini displayport and hooked it up to the vga port on my Sony SDM-S94 monitor, and the monitor doesn't pick up the signal, however, my mac does. I can move the mouse off the screen as if there was another monitor there, but like i said, there isn't any signal on the monitor's part. I tried playing around with different resolutions, but my monitor still wont pick up a signal.
Also, the port on my monitor is called HD15. That's VGA right? Or i'm pretty stupid... EDIT: Im sorry, i didn't read before posting, i should've posted in the other hardware section. sorry. Last edited by SDK94; 01-17-2011 at 11:23 AM. |

Also, you should note that using VGA is not desirable for good quality. Always use the DVI input on your external monitor if possible. |

The display might be old enough that current hardware doesn't support it, or it could be that the display resolution is off and needs to be adjusted. The native resolution for that display is 1280x1024. If you have something other than that, it might not display properly at all.
