Boy, Ive done it this time. Upgraded my notebook to Leopard. No problems. Ran updates. No problems. Browsing has been very slow, so I took advice of a "googled" suggestion of deleting all items in my <preferences<system config folder. Now no internet. Pinwheel is stuck when I open Network Preferences. Wireless not working. Ethernet isn't recognized when I plug in direct to modem. Suggestions?

Welcome to Mac-Forums
Try booting from your install disk, going to Utilities>Disk Utility, click your hdd, click repair disk, click repair permissions. If this dosn't work then you may want to backup and re-install.
Never would recommend deleting/ changing anything system folders.
